Strengthening Partnerships To Improve Student Health Outcomes
In December 2023, Bigfork School District received a two-year grant from the Montana Healthcare Foundation to support increased collaboration with our existing health care resources to serve the varied needs of our entire school community. With the support of this grant, the school district has hired Alyssa Grekoff, RN, who will work closely with students, families, and staff as our school health liaison. The project will also provide staff training and education on the multi-tiered support structure systems. The primary partner is Logan Health, which operates the school-based health center.
Ultimately, the goal is to create connections within our community and help bridge the gap between those in need and the resources which are available.

Project Updates
School-Based Health Initiative
With this grant, the Bigfork School will be joining the Montana Healthcare Foundation’s School-Based Health Initiative. The Montana Healthcare Foundation is the state’s largest health-focused, private foundation that works to improve the health and well-being of all Montanans. The School-Based Health Initiative supports new and existing partnerships between schools and health care providers to create school-based health centers.
